2012 8/27-10/31 Men Summer Clothing & Footwear Drive (Taipei Area)

Looking for a few good people to donate a few good items since male clothes are lacking. The police also like to throw away the items of the homeless every few days, it also is great to have items rotating for them.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: By donating male clothing and footwear; T-shirts, pants, shorts. Size M to the much coveted XL is needed. Footwear such as sneakers or flip flops in good condition. No overly worn, yellowed, stained, hole-y items please. If you can wash these before donation that’s even better.

DO NOT DONATE guidelines!

HOW YOU CAN GET THIS TO ME: I’m generally out and about. If it’s a bag’s worth of items, we can meet up either in Shida, or anywhere along a MRT station at some point. If it’s a box of items it would be great if you could courier this to me (shouldn’t be over 100NT for the cost) or if I happen to be in a car I could swing by. Email me at handfulofsapphires(at)gmail.com

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTERWARDS? I will take the items to a center in Longshan Temple that provides assistance to the homeless, it’s just they sometimes lack very specific size clothing and items. I volunteer there on most Fridays and here are the details if you’d like to come along and be a long term volunteer!

***I am not taking female donations at this moment but can point you towards the proper direction

HOW CAN I HELP (BASED IN TAIWAN)

1) Be a source of location for dropoff in your area

2) Provider of huge boxes(or 100NT for a box) and such monkey tools like tape to close boxes

3) A person who gets the word out about the drive!

4) Anyone who wants to help sort through the clothes.

  1. Could you please post your contact info directly? I don’t want to have to install MS Outlook just in order to contact you, and I’d like to be able to share this with others on local chat forums.
